“Joining the Dots: understanding the changing policing and performance landscape”

The 21st annual EIP conference took place online on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th November. All UK police forces participated in the event alongside colleagues from the College of Policing, Police and Crime Commissioners’ offices, HMICFRS, the Home Office, APPC and representatives from ‘virtual exhibitor’ organisations.

As the demands for services provided by police continue to diversify and increase in both their number and complexity, EIP 2021 sought to assist leaders and practitioners to see the emerging picture and understand the ways in which the wider policing and performance landscape is changing.

It explored the emerging performance framework, how it will influence what we do; and how centrally driven expectations can be reconciled with the local needs of different operational contexts. We considered what enables excellence in police practice and placed particular emphasis on how technology can help us to realise the potential of our information resources to improve how we make decisions, plan and stand up to scrutiny.

The event was organised in association with the College of Policing and with support from IBM Ltd and was built around a number of presentations, conversations and interactive sessions. Participants had the opportunity to submit questions, participate in real time polls and engage in live chat with other participants.
